Permalign
The Permalign system is used for measuring thermal growth movements. Permalign consists of a number of lasers/detectors and optical prisms that measure relative movement in the 4 degrees of freedom. Permalign has applications where measurement of movement between 2 datum points within 10 metres is required. The biggest application will be to allow owners of rotating machinery to generate their own offsets to compensate for thermal and dynamic load growth. Other applications are to measure pipe movement, frame deflection and foundation movement.
