Ultrasonic Technology and Measurement Capabilities

This technical presentation covers the use and capabilities of Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters in the Oil & Gas industry.

For the safe and efficient operation of facilities, all flow rates need to be monitored. Clamp-on ultrasonic technology has always been preferred, especially where the medium to be measured is reason enough not to open the pipe if at all possible. For this reason, the multitude of processes in hydrocarbon production, transportation, treatment, storage and distribution have long been some of the primary areas of application for ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeters.

Topics of the presentation include:

  • Ultrasonic measuring principal
  • General benefits and differences between clamp-on meters
  • Examples of applications and case studies in the industry

About the Presenter

Claus Weihermueller studied both Mechanical and Chemical Engineering in Berlin, graduating with a master’s degree in Process Control from the Institute of Plant Design and Engineering.

Having started a career as an Automation Engineer in INTRA Automation Grevenboich, Claus has since travelled and worked across the world, sharing his passion for ultrasonic flow measurement technologies and solutions within countries like China, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Australia.
