Laser Alignment Training

Increase Productivity and Profitability through Correct Use of Laser Alignment Equipment

Training is typically required with new equipment purchases, new employment or transfer of staff and changes to work practices. Whatever the reason, the goal should be simple; to increase productivity and profitability through proper use of equipment.  Learning the best engineering practices will assist with higher levels of competency, adherence to correct procedures and job satisfaction.

We provide a range of training and specific workshops from introductory to advanced levels.  Our trainers are active Service Engineers with experience in the oil and gas, mining and processing industries, equipping them with practical and site-relevant knowledge.  They are the experts with world-renowned German brand PRÜFTECHNIK laser alignment equipment, and conduct product-specific laser alignment training courses.

We conduct formal group training sessions and one on one courses in laser alignment training.  Aquip have been in the business for over 25 years and are experts in the alignment of rotating machinery with an emphasis on practical applications.

Training can be held in our premises in Bentley in Perth and also our office in Warriewood Sydney. We can also conduct training on site or at other designated facilities throughout Australia and worldwide.

Our Laser Alignment Training Programs

  • Laser alignment fundamentals and best alignment practices:

Laser alignment is an essential component of a viable maintenance strategy for rotating machines. In isolation each strategy can help to reduce unexpected machine failure but taken together they form the hub of a proactive maintenance strategy that will not only identify incipient problems but allows extending machine operating life considerably.
  • Understanding laser alignment optical systems and configuration:

Users of Alignment Systems needs to ensure the correct setup and configuration is used to optimise results. Our training will provide you with everything you need to know to ensure you have the correct configuration during every time alignment.

  • Pre-alignment preparation and checklists:

When it comes to alignment, preparation is key. We provide all our trainees with a step by step checklist so that you get it right every time and always have something to refer to back.
  • Checking and correcting soft foot and pipe strain:

Learn how to resolve external forces such as pipe strain to improve the soft foot condition.

  • Alignment procedure and measurement techniques for coupled, uncoupled and vertical machines.

  • Working smarter with “what if” scenarios and “move simulator”.

  • Working to tolerances and targets.

  • Creation and use of alignment templates.

  • Thermal growth – measurement and effect:

For larger machine sets and for equipment that operates at elevated temperatures on one component of the machine set it is necessary to consider the effects of expansion (or contraction) on the alignment condition of the machine. There is little point in accurately aligning a machine set at cold if this alignment condition will change at the normal operating condition of the machine set.

  • Practical alignment performed in teams.
